EasySnipSI: snip and mark up screenshots for site plans
EasySnipSI is a snip and markup tool that runs in your web browser. Capture part of your screen, a window or a browser tab, or paste a screenshot, mark it up with arrows, callouts, revision clouds and notes, then send it to EasySiteSI as a sheet.
What EasySnipSI is and who it’s for
EasySnipSI is made by Pareto Way Consulting, an Australian Digital Engineering, BIM and AI consultancy, as a companion to the EasySiteSI site logistics planner. It runs in your web browser, there’s nothing to install and no sign-up is required.
It’s for anyone who needs to grab part of a drawing, a map or another app, point at what matters and pass it on: site managers, project managers, logistics planners and design teams marking up a plan, raising an RFI or briefing the next step of a site plan.
Alongside the markup tools you get stamps with your name and today’s date, site symbols such as a north arrow, tower crane, site gate, first aid and assembly point, and a scale you can set from a known length so lengths, areas in m² and perimeters read in real units.
How it works
- Snip. Click New Snip to capture your screen, a window or a browser tab, with an optional 3, 5 or 10 second delay so you can open a menu first. You can also paste a screenshot (for example Win+Shift+S then Ctrl+V), open an image file or drag one onto the window.
- Crop and mark up. Crop to the area you need, then add arrows, callouts with leaders, revision clouds, text, numbered issue tags, highlights and blur. Markups stay editable until you export.
- Set the scale (optional). Draw a line over something of known length and enter its real length in metres or millimetres to show lengths, areas in m² and perimeters.
- Send or share. Send the snip to EasySiteSI as a sheet, or copy it, download it as a PNG, or share it by email or your device’s share sheet.
Extra tools include text recognition (OCR) to pull text out of a snip, a compare view that shows two snips by swipe, opacity or difference, and a PDF markup report that puts several snips with titles and notes into one A4 PDF.
How EasySnipSI works with EasySiteSI
Click Send to Easy Site Planner (Ctrl+Enter). When EasySnipSI is opened from paretoway.com.au, the same site as the EasySiteSI app, the snip goes straight into EasySiteSI’s built-in snip import and opens as a sheet in a new, unsaved project, ready to calibrate on the map and build into a site plan.
If EasySnipSI is opened from somewhere else, such as a saved file or another website, the snip is sent to EasySiteSI by message and also copied to your clipboard, so you can paste it in if needed. Save the project in EasySiteSI as usual to keep it as EasySiteSI files on your computer.
What EasySnipSI isn’t
- Not a site planner. It captures and marks up images. Site logistics plans, phases and print-ready PDF sheets are made in EasySiteSI.
- Not a CAD or PDF editor. It marks up a picture of a drawing; it doesn’t change the original drawing file.
- Not a survey tool. Lengths and areas are only as accurate as the scale you set from a known length.
- Not a cloud workspace. Recent snips are kept in your browser. Share a snip by sending it to EasySiteSI, copying it, downloading a PNG or emailing it.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is EasySnipSI?
EasySnipSI is Pareto Way's browser-based snip and markup tool. You capture a screen, drawing or map, add arrows, callouts, revision clouds, stamps, dimensions and areas, then send the snip into EasySiteSI as a sheet, or copy, download or share it as a PNG.
Do I need to install anything or sign up?
No. EasySnipSI runs in your web browser at paretoway.com.au/snip/ and no sign-up is required. Where your browser supports it, an Install app button lets you open EasySnipSI in its own window and pin it to the taskbar.
How does EasySnipSI send a snip to EasySiteSI?
Click Send to Easy Site Planner (or press Ctrl+Enter). When EasySnipSI is opened from paretoway.com.au, the snip goes straight into EasySiteSI's built-in snip import and opens as a sheet in a new, unsaved project. When it is opened from somewhere else, the snip is sent to EasySiteSI by message and also copied to your clipboard.
Can I measure lengths and areas on a snip?
Yes. Draw a line over something of known length and enter its real length in metres or millimetres to set the scale. EasySnipSI can then show scaled lengths, areas in m² and perimeters, and add a scale bar.
Which stamps and symbols are included?
Stamps include Approved, For Review and RFI, or your own custom text, and can carry your name with today's date. Symbols include a north arrow, scale bar, numbered issue tags, tower crane, site gate, first aid, fire extinguisher, assembly point, toilets and hazard.
Are my snips uploaded anywhere?
Recent snips are kept in your browser. Text recognition (OCR) processes the image in your browser and doesn't upload it. EasySnipSI can share anonymous usage analytics that count which features are used, never your images, text, notes, names or keys, and you can turn this off in Settings.
Does EasySnipSI work offline?
Capturing and marking up work in the browser. Text recognition and the PDF markup report need an internet connection the first time, because their components load from a CDN, and sending a snip opens EasySiteSI, which needs an internet connection for its map.
Who makes EasySnipSI?
EasySnipSI is made by Pareto Way Consulting Pty Ltd, an Australian Digital Engineering, BIM and AI consultancy that also makes the EasySiteSI site logistics planner.
