Site establishment plan

Make a site establishment plan in your browser

A site establishment plan shows how a site is set up at mobilisation: the boundary, hoarding and fencing, gates and access, site sheds and amenities, laydown, parking and pedestrian routes. EasySiteSI lets you draw it to scale over a live satellite map in your browser, with nothing to install, and export a print-ready PDF at A1, A3 or A4. It’s often the first sheet of a site logistics plan.

What goes on a site establishment plan?

A site establishment plan is the drawing of how the site is set up before work starts. It shows where the site ends and how it’s secured, how vehicles and people get in and out, where the site sheds and amenities sit, and where materials are stored. Drawn to scale over aerial imagery, it also shows how the set-up fits the real streets, footpaths and neighbours.

Site establishment plan checklist

  • Site boundary
  • Hoarding and fencing, with length and panel count
  • Gates and site access for vehicles and people
  • Site sheds, toilets and first aid: site offices, crib huts, change rooms, ablutions and the first-aid shed
  • Laydown and storage: laydown areas and containers
  • Parking for site vehicles
  • Pedestrian routes past and through the site
  • Delivery route and loading zone
  • Signage and safety points: induction point, muster point, fire equipment and speed limit signs
  • North arrow and legend on the exported sheet

How to make a site establishment plan in EasySiteSI

  1. Put your site plan on the map. Drop in your site plan PDF, PNG or JPG (or a DXF on Pro) and calibrate it over live satellite, street or hybrid mapping at true scale.
  2. Draw hoarding, fencing and gates. Trace fence and hoarding lines and EasySiteSI shows their length and panel count. Add site access gates where vehicles and people enter.
  3. Place site sheds and amenities. Drag true-size site sheds, site offices, toilets, the first-aid shed and containers onto the plan.
  4. Add access, parking and walkways. Mark the delivery route, loading zone and pedestrian walkways with Routes & Access lines, and add parking.
  5. Label and export. Add callouts, then export a print-ready PDF at A1, A3 or A4 with a legend and north arrow. On Pro, add a title block and your logo.
Part 4 of the example videos: add site sheds, gates, pedestrian walkways and parking. Part 2 covers fencing.

Know the limits

EasySiteSI draws the plan. It doesn’t replace permits, hoarding or road-occupancy approvals, or engineering advice, and requirements differ between councils and authorities. It works in 2D plan view over aerial imagery, and imagery capture dates vary, so check the plan against current site conditions.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is a site establishment plan?

A site establishment plan shows how a site is set up at mobilisation: the boundary, hoarding and fencing, gates and access, site sheds and amenities, laydown, parking and pedestrian routes. It is often the first sheet of a site logistics plan, and it may form part of a construction management plan for council.

What app can I use to draw a site establishment plan in Australia?

EasySiteSI is an Australian browser app for drawing a site establishment plan to scale. Put your site plan on a live satellite map, then add hoarding, fencing with panel counts, gates, site sheds, amenities, parking and pedestrian routes, and export a print-ready PDF at A1, A3 or A4. The Basic plan is free.

Can EasySiteSI count fence panels?

Yes. When you trace a fence or hoarding line on your calibrated site plan, EasySiteSI shows its length and panel count. Group the fencing in SITE OBJECTS so it moves and edits as one.

Can I show how the site set-up changes over the job?

Yes, on the Pro plan. Assign objects to phases such as mobilisation, structure, façade and services, fit-out and external works, and export a sheet for each phase.

Do I need CAD to draw a site establishment plan?

No. Start from a PDF, PNG or JPG of your site plan and do all the markup in your browser, with nothing to install. If you have CAD drawings, the Pro plan can import DXF files.

Does a site establishment plan from EasySiteSI replace council or authority approvals?

No. EasySiteSI helps you draw a clear, to-scale plan. Permits, hoarding and road-occupancy approvals, engineering sign-off and anything else your council or authority asks for are still needed, so check their current requirements.

Plan your next site in minutes

Open EasySiteSI in your browser and start with your own site plan. It works in your browser, no install, and you start with a 30-day Pro plan trial. The Basic plan is free.
